Individual Psychotherapy
Rather than just “band-aiding” a problem, I seek to find the sources of the issues at hand. I believe in getting to the heart of the matter through active listening and trust building in a safe and confidential environment.
Discovering patterns in relationships and understanding the past can be catalysts to healing and desired lasting change for the future. I offer my clients tools and coping skills to help them live their best lives and move forward, while respecting each client’s individual timeline and process.
I use traditional talk therapy, but also include other complementary techniques when I feel my clients would benefit from them. These include relaxation, mindfulness, narrative therapy, art expression, play therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for children and adults. I help clients to develop self-identity with a focus on support and healing from anxiety, depression, eating disorders, women of partners experiencing sexual integrity issues, and trauma. My strengths include effective communication, a desire to gain deeper understanding, empathy, flexibility of therapeutic focus based on the client’s need, and a true passion for helping clients to experience a better way to live.
Corporate Consulting
On a separate note, I am a corporate support resource, providing leadership development, facilitating conflict resolution, team building, group communication skill building, and corporate and small business Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). In my past career, I experienced people issues as obstacles to best outcomes not only for the business, but for the individual who spends much of their day at work. Also, the company investment in these services promotes healthy work environments and provides a financial avenue for employees to access assistance. A win win!
Healthy individuals, healthy work environments.
Corporate counseling services can help employees reach their full potential and resolve issues in the workplace such as communication problems, fear of public speaking, and organizational management design issues. Another form of counseling in the workplace is a short-term supportive intervention, focusing on the individual employee. More specifically, a work-based EAP is a program that is a resource designed to help employees resolve personal issues that effect productivity and relationships in the work environment. Issues may include, but are not limited to marital, family, financial, emotional problems and/or substance abuse.
